On 10th April a human case of Rabies occurred in the Shatin District, New Territories. A few days later a canine case was detected near Kowloon City. Other two cases occurred in Kow- loon, the first, early in June, biting three children, and the latter, early in July, biting four children and one adult before being captured.

The usual measures were taken.

No further cases occurred up to the end of the year.

Towards the end of the year a 'Guide for the Public to the Prevention and Treatment of Rabies in Hong Kong' was drawn up by the Colonial Veterinary Surgeon, in collaboration with the Government Bacteriologist, for publication under the auspices of the Sanitary Board.
